This beautiful new site. designed by yours-truly on WordPress, launches today! Those of you who may have tried to visit Sailing Phoenix will have found yourselves here automatically and maybe wondered – Hey, who changed the site?
I’m sure there are a few bugs, especially in mobile view, so please let me know if anything looks weird and I will fix it asap. Use the comments at the bottom of the post, or the Contact Us at the very bottom of the page in the footer.
Why the new site? Because we have a new boat and we sold Phoenix, all in the last two months. We are still trying to stow everything properly so we can actually start sailing the new boat (what’s that second mast for, anyway?) but being a nerd at heart I had to update the site first.
For those that are really behind in the news, we are in San Francisco where all these changes happened, and will be here for a few more months before eventually continuing our cruise south towards Ecuador and eventually the South Pacific. But for now we are having a blast living aboard, stowing stuff, meeting new friends, stowing stuff, exploring San Francisco, and stowing stuff. Okay, we are fixing a few things here and there, too. So basically living the cruiser lifestyle.
I will now resume writing articles at a normal clip, so feel free to subscribe (very bottom of page, left side of footer) if you want to keep posted every couple of weeks with the new articles. This week I will put out a Galley-oriented article, so check back.
Thanks to my old readers for joining us on this adventure and welcome to any new readers. If you have particular subjects you are interested in reading about, let me know and I’ll see what I can find out.

Wow look at the elbow room in that galley! You rock! I have a suggestion for your page, please make the font black.
That kitchen is a beaut!
Wow! Looks like a “real” galley! How do you keep all the pretty square glass? containers on the counters from sliding onto the floor in heavy seas?
They are not glass, just plastic! And they fit pretty tight under there (just luck, that). But at sea we will use a bungie to securely tie them in.
