We left Richmond, CA in San Francisco Bay at 600 in thick fog and arrived safely in Pillar Point on Half Moon Bay at 1315 and anchored in lovely sunlight. We were in fog the whole way down – quite scary to go under the Golden Gate Bridge seeing only an occasional glimpse of the iconic red towers and hearing the fog horns’ mournful boomings. Radar didn’t work but autopilot did. AIS and GPS made it possible to do safely. No wind at all. Unpleasant rolling beam waves most of the morning. Zoe the puppy did fine, very calm. Jon has gone off in the dinghy and will get a ride back to Richmond to pick up the truck. First night to sleep at anchor in Eurybia!
